Character
Name: Ken Ichijouji (once known as the Digimon Kaiser)
Canon: Digimon Adventure 02
Pull-point: Between Episodes 23 and 24. Ken has regained Wormmon, but not met up with the other Chosen Children
Power Opt-in post link: N/A
Content Opt-out post link: N/A
Age: 11
Gender/Sex: Male
Appearance: Ken is a Japanese boy with blue-black hair (worn cut to the base of his neck) and blue eyes, and is slightly taller than average and a bit skinny compared to most kids his age.
History: Ken was born to a normal turn-of-the millenium Japanese family, with two parents and an older brother, Osamu. When Ken was about 8, a strange device came out of their computer. Osamu hid the device form Ken, but Ken took it anyway. He had a magical adventure to save the Digital World with his Digimon partner, Wormmon, and another boy, Ryo Akiyama. However, some corrupt data entered him in the final boss battle.
After he returned, he and Osamu had a major fight about Touching His Brother's Stuff, and Ken said some things he regretted. Of course, then his brother was killed in an accident. The combination of guilt, the corrupted data, and some good old-fashioned manipulation pushed Ken towards treating the Digital World as his own personal computer game and generally turning a good kid into a jerk.
This brought him into conflict with the other Chosen Children, kids who also could enter the Digital World and had a partner. At first, Ken found them an interesting challenge, but he quickly got frustrated as they kicked his ass, and he eventually ran away to pursue evil overlording full time. Also, giving in to the corrupted data was having poor effects on his sanity, which eventually lead to Wormmon switching sides.
Ken eventually realized that the Digital World was not an immersive computer game, and that the monster he'd created was going to kill them all, and Wormmon had sacrificed his life to keep Ken safe, despite the fact Ken had treated him like shit for months. Ken somehow made it home in a stupor, no longer in the sociopathic jerk mode, but in grief-stricken and traumatized mode. He returned to the Digital World to discover that Digimon could be reborn, and that Wormmon still wanted to be his partner. Also, that he had left a mess.
Personality: Ken seems to be an introverted kid with a great deal of sensitivity and compassion. Then he got massive amounts of trauma piled on him, and some weird cognitive alterations. Ken is coming back to the compassionate person he was, but with a great deal of guilt and anxiety. He is going to assume everyone will hate him if they know his backstory, and that it is his job to fix any mistakes he makes personally. He won't have his past known in Arda (except to Wormmon), so he'll be slightly more willing to socialize, but will be uneasy talking about where he's from, especially things pertaining to the Digital World. He's also quite willing to martyr himself, thanks to a sense of low self-worth.
Despite this, Ken likes the company of other people. He likes having friends. While he probably won't be easy with people until they know his backstory and have gotten it through his head that one messed up kid (possibly acting under evil influence) does not a monster make. He is also a very brave kid, having survived with minimal human contact, and been through some messed-up battles.
Abilities:
• Ken's entire special power is that he has a link to Wormmon that lets Wormmon evolve into Stingmon.
• The Dark Seed (the bit of corrupted data in Ken) can cause some pretty strong emotional effects (suppressing empathy and enhancing anger and cruelty and possibly hallucinations), but is currently dormant.
• Ken has a basic fifth-grade education.
• He's shown knowing judo as well, and to be skilled at computer programming. He also speaks Japanese and
• English and apparently some Spanish.
Inventory: Ken has his D-3 Digivice, which would let him track Wormmon and any other of his cast members, and is required for Wormmon's evolution. Digivices in the past have been able to emit a light that harms corrupted Digimon, but Ken's has shown no sign of doing so.
Ken also has a D-Terminal, a wireless message-sender. (it can also store Digimentals, but Ken doesn't own one.)

Appearance: Digimon partnered to a human can change form. Wormmon's usual form is a green cat-sized caterpillar with pink claws and bright blue non-compound eyes.
If Wormmon is exhausted or very hungry, he'll revert to Minomon. Minomon is a pale green insect with a barklike bag covering his lower body and black eyes.
If Wormmon is in truly dire states, he has an even weaker form, called Leafmon, which is a pale green earred blob, with a tail that looks like a leaf umbrella.
Conversely, if Wormmon receives power from Ken, he can evolve into Stingmon, a ten-foot tall armored humanoid grasshopper with wings.
Personality:
Wormmon is also a bit introverted, and generally can be found near or around Ken. Because he met Ken while Ken was young and alone in the Digital World, he views his proper job as taking care of his human partner. This can be everything from helping with cleaning, to making sure Ken eats, to jumping in front of him when threats show up (even threats that could kick Wormmon's insect butt). Wormmon is extremely loyal, which is how he ended up a doormat for most of Ken's time as the Digimon Kaiser.
That particular disaster taught Wormmon wisdom, and that looking out for Ken sometimes meant standing up to him or doing what's best for him (which isn't always what he says). Now that Ken talks to him and values him, this is more likely to be Wormmon offering advice and guidance than asking others to save Ken from himself, but he's willing to consider the option.
Wormmon's current goal is to get Ken to forgive himself or at least move past and stop thinking he deserves every bad thing that happens.
Abilities: Wormmon's abilities change with his evolution level.
General Skills:
• Wormmon appears to have at least some basic life skills, covering cooking and cleaning and so on.
• Also general survival skills, albeit pitched for the Digital World.
• All Digimon have the ability to return to an egg when they die.
• Wormmon (and all of his current forms) is a Virus Digimon. By the rock-paper-scissors system of Digimon types, he is weaker towards Vaccine Digimon, which are often light or holy themed. This isn't as much a good-evil thing as a fire-water thing. Still, light or holy based attacks will hurt more.
As Leafmon
• He has a weak short-range attack (Acid Bubble), that is more annoying than harmful. Also he hops.
As Minomon
• Minomon can climb and crawl, generate some silk, and fire pinecones at an enemy. This is slightly more annoying.
As Wormmon:
* Wormmon has claws that seem to be sharp enough to cut, and can use them to climb.
* He still can generate silk, this time strong enough to immobilize as well as for travel purposes.
As Stingmon:
* Stingmon can fly (while carrying Ken)
* Stingmon has a tough exoskeleton
* Stingmon is physically pretty strong.
* Stingmon can fight with the blades on his arm as well as claws. The blades count as a special attack.
* Being Stingmon drains Wormmon's energy. At this point, it could maybe last an hour; less if he's fighting or injured.
